18 Canadian French ratings Rating Description G 8ans+ Children Children 8 years and above 13ans+ 16ans+ 18ans+ EXEMPT Children 13 years and above Children 16 years and above Adult programming Not rated To set up program blocking: 1 Press MENU. The main (Video) menu opens. Picture Mode Normal Contrast 50 Brightness 50 Saturation 50 Hue 0 Sharpness 4 Color Temperature Natural Noise Reduction Medium Video Enter Select Exit 2 Press or to select SETUP. The Setup menu opens. OSD Language Time Setup Closed Caption Parental Gamma Audio Only Reset Default English Middle Setup Enter Select Exit 3 Press or to select Parental, then press ENTER. The password screen opens. Password **** Parental Back 4 Enter your four-digit password (the factory preset password is 0000). The Parental sub-menu opens. The Program Block sub-menu opens. Options and sub-menus include: • U.S TV Ratings-Opens a sub-menu that lets you block TV programs, based on content. • U.S. Movie Ratings-Opens a sub-menu that lets you block movies, based on content. • Canadian English Ratings-Opens a sub-menu that lets you block programs, based on the Canadian (English) rating system. • Canadian French Ratings-Opens a sub-menu that lets you block programs, based on the Canadian (French) rating system. • Block MPAA Unrated-Lets you block movies that are unrated. Options are No and Yes. • Block TV Unrated-Lets you block TV programs that are unrated. Options are No and Yes. 7 If you open one of the ratings sub-menus, press , , , or to select the rating you want to block, then press ENTER to block the rating. A lock icon appears in the box opposite any rating you block. When you block a rating, all ratings below that rating are also blocked. 8 Press MENU to exit a sub-menu, or press EXIT to close the menus and return to normal viewing.
