SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS THIS APPLIANCE IS INTENDED FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following: WARNING TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY: 1 Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing. 2 Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. 3 Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. 4 Use only as described in this manual. Use only Dyson recommended attachments. 5 Do not use with damaged cable or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, contact the Dyson Helpline: 1-866-693-9766. 6 Do not pull or carry by cable, use cable as a handle, close a door on cable, or pull cable around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cable. Keep cable away from heated surfaces. 7 Do not unplug by pulling on cable. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cable. 8 Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands. 9 Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow. 10 Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts, such as the brushbar. 11 Turn off all controls before unplugging. 12 Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Do not use above you on the stairs. 13 Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present. 14 The hose contains electrical wires. Do not use when damaged, cut, or punctured. Avoid picking up sharp objects. 15 Always turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting either hose or motorized nozzle. 16 Hold plug when rewinding onto cable reel. Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding. 17 Unplug before connecting accessory tools. 18 Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes. 19 Do not use without clear binTM and filters in place. Do not pull on the cable. Do not use near open flame. Do not use near heat sources. Do not run over the cable. Do not pick up water or liquids. Do not pick up burning objects. Do not use above you on the stairs. Do not put your hands near the brushbar when the cleaner is in use.
