EVGA P67 FTW Motherboard Connecting SATA Cables The SATA II connector is used to connect the SATA II device to the motherboard. These connectors support the thin SATA II cables for primary storage devices. The current SATA II interface allows up to 300MB/s data transfer rate. There are six (6) internal SATA connectors on this motherboard. Connection points SATA0 - SATA4 (Black in color), are controlled by the P67 Chipset and operate at a speed up to 300MB/s. There is also a pair of ESATA ports on the rear panel which is operated by the Marvell 88SE6121 Chipset. The onboard ports that are red in color are SATA III ports and operate from the P67 chipset at a transfer rate up to 600MB/s RX- TX- RX+ TX+ GND GND GND SATA 4 (bottom) SATA 2 (bottom) SATA 0 (bottom) SATA 5 (top) SATA 3 (top) SATA 1 (top) Connect the locking cable end to the motherboard connector. Connect the end without the lock to the SATA device. 23
