An operating system determines how programs run on the computer and supervises all input and output. MS-DOS is one of the most commonly used operating systems, and the majority of software programs are designed to work with MS-DOS. Your Apex also comes with the GW-BASIC® programming language, which is simple to learn but also includes advanced features for the experienced programmer. If you have used MS-DOS or GW-BASIC before on another computer, you'll find that it works the same on the Apex. Be sure to refer to your Apex MS-DOS or GW-BASIC manual, however, where you'll find descriptions of special features added by Epson.
