Recommended Settings Getting the best scan possible depends on several factors, including the quality of your original and the resolution you select. The better your original is, the better your scan will be. You can make many corrections in your scanning software (EPSON TWAIN), however, major photo retouching will need to be done in programs such as Adobe Photoshop Elements or ArcSoft PhotoImpression. If you are manually adjusting the settings in the TWAIN window, try the following settings for optimal scans: I Viewing on screen or the Web: 72 to 96 dpi I Sending and viewing on e-mail: 96 to 150 dpi I Printing: Type of image Photograph Small photograph to be enlarged Magazine Newspaper (text only) Text for OCR Text with images Line art 35 mm film (negative) 35 mm slide Recommended Image Type Color Photo Color Photo Color Photo Text Text Color Document Line Art TPU: Color Neg. Film TPU: Monochrome Neg. Film TPU: Pos. Film Resolution for printing 300 dpi 300 to 3200 dpi 300 dpi 400 dpi 400 dpi 400 dpi 300 to 3200 dpi 300 to 3200 dpi 300 to 3200 dpi Higher dpi settings create larger files.
