Requirements and Notices Windows System Requirements To use your printer and its software, your system should have: ■ A Microsoft Windows compatible PC with a Pentium®-equivalent processor (233 MHz or faster recommended) ■ Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.x ■ 64MB RAM (128MB recommended) ■ 100MB available hard disk space (200MB or more recommended) ■ VGA or better display adapter and monitor (SVGA for Windows XP) ■ CD-ROM or DVD drive for installing the printer software ■ Parallel connection: a high-speed, bidirectional IEEE-1284 compliant parallel cable, up to 10 feet long (3 meters); the cable must have a D-SUB, 25-pin, male connector for your computer, and a 36-pin, Centronics® compatible connector for the printer. ■ USB connection: a computer with preinstalled Windows XP, Me, 2000, or 98, and a Windows-compliant USB port and shielded USB "AB" cable. Using an improperly shielded USB cable may cause the printer to malfunction. Macintosh System Requirements To use your printer and its software, your system should have: ■ An Apple® iMac™ series or Power Macintosh® G3 or G4 with built-in USB port ■ Mac® OS 8.6 through 9.x; OS X 10.1 or later (Mac OS 9.1 or later recommended) ■ For Mac OS 8.6 through 9.x: 32MB RAM (64MB recommended) For Mac OS X: 128MB RAM (256MB recommended) ■ 100MB free hard disk space (200MB recommended) ■ VGA display or better ■ CD-ROM or DVD drive for installing the printer software ■ A shielded USB "AB" cable. Windows System Requirements
To use your printer and its software, your system should have:
