English D/A converter mode Dimmer This unit can be used as a D/A converter when its input source is set to an external digital input (COAX in, OPT in or USB in). Changing the input source When stopped, press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the following input sources. CD/SACD USB in (USB input for computer) COAX in (coaxial digital input) OPT in (optical digital input) You can adjust the brightness of this unit's display and indicators. FL Dimmer3 (normal c brightness) FL Dimmer2 c FL Dimmer1 c Off oo If you select "Off", the display and the indicators will be unlit. oo In this mode, the display will light at normal brightness for about three seconds when you press 7 or another button. oo Even when set to any value other than Dimmer3, normal bright- ness (Dimmer3) will be used when displaying error messages and setting menus. oo When an external digital input (COAX in, OPT in, USB in) is selected, the name and sampling frequency of the selected input appears on the display. If there is no input signal or the input signal is not locked, the input sampling frequency is not shown and the input name blinks. oo If the input signal is not a digital audio signal or uses an audio signal format that is not supported by this unit (such as Dolby Digital, dts or AAC) "- - -" appears in place of the sampling frequency. Set the digital output of the connected equipment to PCM audio output. oo When an external input (COAX in, OPT in, USB in) is selected, disc controls other than the tray open/close (-) button do not function. 21

selected, the name and sampling frequency of the selected input
appears on the display. If there is no input signal or the input sig-
