3.3.2 Mounting A mounting plate is included to provide a fixed mount inside the aircraft, if desired. The GDL 39 and optional battery have rubber pads that keep the unit from sliding around, if the mounting plate is not used. The GDL 39 may be mounted in a remote location away from the cockpit, but may require the use of an external antenna for best GPS and ADS-B reception.
