BASIC OPERATION > ENTERING DATA AND SELECTING OPTIONS Entering Data and Selecting Options You can select and start options, and enter data to customize the GPSMAP 392/398/492/498 to fit your requirements. Use the ENTER key and the ROCKER to select options, enter names and numbers in data fields, and start your selections. To select an optional feature: 1. With any page shown, press ADJ/MENU for the adjustment menu. The adjustment menu shows a list of optional features that are specific for that page. To select an option requires movement of the cursor. This is referred to as highlighting, selecting, or choosing an item. 2. Use the ROCKER to move the cursor (highlight) up and down a list or up, down, left, and right on menus. 3. After you highlight a selection, press ENTER to start the feature. Repeat this process to select an option from the list, or press QUIT to return to the previous setting. To select an on-screen button: Some pages contain on-screen buttons.
