Do not use cleansers such as soaps, detergents, scouring powders or spray cleaners that can cause odors inside the freezer. Wash the basket in mild detergent solution and dry with a soft cloth. To help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the freezer. Change the box every three months. Do not wash any plastic parts from your freezer in the dishwasher. DEFROSTING Defrost whenever frost becomes 114" thick. Never use a sharp or metallic instrument to remove frost as it may damage the cooling coils. (A punctured cooling coil will cause serious problems and void the warranty.) We recommend using the plastic scraper included with the freezer. To defrost, first turn on the "Quick-Freeze" Switch for about 4 hours. This will harden items which you may want to put back in freezer later. Remove foods and basket from freezer. Remov'e drain plug and place a pan under drain to collet water. Defrosting usually takes a few hours. To defrost faster, keep the door open and place a bowl of warm water in the freezer. Wipe the interior of the freezer and drain hole with a cloth or clean as described in `Care and Cleaning' section of this manual. Reinsert drain plug and plug the power cord into electrical outlet. Turn the temperature control to the desired setting. You may want to run the quick-freeze feature for a few hours and then adjust the temperature control to the desired setting. Return food and freezer basket to the freezer. TROUBLESHOOTING Freezer does not operate -Not plugged in. Check that the plug is inserted into the wall outlet. -Circuit breaker was tripped or fuse blown. Turns on and off frequently -Turn the temperature control dial to a cooler setting. -If you have just placed a large amount of food into the freezer, the freezer will run longer and more frequently until the food is frozen and the temperature is stable. -The freezer is stored in direct sunlight or too close to a heat source. Reposition the freezer in a better location. Use shims to make it level. We will repair or replace (excluding labor costs, at our discretion) the compressor (part only) for an additional 4 year period. How can you get service? 1. Contact your nearest Haler° authorized Service Depot. For the name of your nearest authorized Service Depot, contact Haier6 at (877) 337-3639. 2. All service must be performed by a Haler° authorized Service Depot. THIS WARRANTY COVERS UNITS WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES AND PUERTO RICO AND DOES NOT COVER: • Damages to sealed condenser coil system • Damages from improper installation • Damages in shipping • Detects other than manufacturing defects • Damages from misuse, abuse, accident, alteration, lack of proper care and maintenance or incorrect current or voltage • Damages from other than normal household use • Damages from service by other than an authorized dealer or service center • Glass, trim or light bulbs • Any transportation and shipping charges THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS GIVEN IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES Of MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. The remedy provided in this warranty is exclusive and is granted in lieu of all other remedies. This warranty does not cover incidental or consequential damages. Some stales do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
