Cleaning Tool BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME Caution! Do not immerse the appliance, cord or plug in water or other liquids. Before using your panini maker for the first time, be sure to do the following: • Read all instructions in this manual carefully. • Remove all accessories and packing materials from the panini maker. • Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners on any part of the appliance. • To remove any dust that may have accumulated during packaging, wipe the exterior with a clean, damp cloth and wipe dry. • Wipe the grill surfaces with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. When cleaning the nonstick grill plates, always ensure that the unit is not plugged in. • Place the appliance on a dry, level surface at least 4 inches away from the wall and other objects on the countertop. • Unwind the power cord and plug it into a standard polarized wall outlet. • Wash the accessories in warm soapy water, rinse and dry with a clean cloth. • This appliance should be the only appliance operating on the circuit. 3
