SAFETy clearing Jams TO pREVENT SERIOUS INJURy FROM AccIDENTAL OpERATION, BEFORE ANy MAINTENANcE OR REpAIRS ARE DONE (including clearing jams): • Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles with side shields. Other people in the work area must also wear ANSI-approved impact safety goggles with side shields. • Release the trigger. • Detach the air supply. • Attempt to fire the Tool into a piece of scrap wood to ensure that it is disconnected and is incapable of firing any fasteners. • Empty the magazine and leave it open during service. The Magazine is spring-loaded and may cause parts or a fastener to fly out of the Tool. 1. If a fastener is jammed in the discharge area, disconnect tool from air hose, press down on the Magazine Release (65) to open Magazine. Open the Magazine completely. 2. Empty Magazine of staples, release any built-up air pressure, and leave the Magazine open. 3. Remove screws holding the Driver Guide Cover (55) in place. Lift the Driver Guide Cover and Spacer (53) up off the Driver Guide (51) and remove jammed fasteners. 4. Inspect Driver Guide for bends or breakage. If it is damaged, do not use tool until it is repaired by a qualified technician. 5. Lightly oil Driver Guide and replace the Spacer and Driver Guide Cover. WARNING! Make sure the Safety Nosepiece (54) moves freely and is not pinched by the Driver Guide cover in any way. 6. If a fastener is jammed in the Magazine, press down on the Magazine Release (65) to open Magazine. Open the Magazine completely. Use a screwdriver to release the jammed fastener by probing the openings in the Magazine. 7. Pull out the jammed fastener and the remainder of the fastener strip from the Magazine. Dispose of the remaining fastener strip; it is likely bent or damaged and may cause repeated jamming or damage to the tool if reused. 8. Clearing Jams

is disconnected and is incapable of firing any fasteners.
Empty the magazine and leave it open during service.

Open the Magazine completely.

Remove screws holding the Driver Guide
Cover (55) in place.
Lift the Driver Guide
Cover and Spacer (53) up off the Driver Guide
(51) and remove jammed fasteners.
4.

repaired by a qualified technician.
5.
Lightly oil Driver Guide and replace the
Spacer and Driver Guide Cover.

6.
If a fastener is jammed in the Magazine, press
down on the Magazine Release (65) to open
Magazine.
Open the Magazine completely.
Use
a screwdriver to release the jammed fastener
by probing the openings in the Magazine.
7.
Pull out the jammed fastener and the remainder of
the fastener strip from the Magazine.
Dispose of the remaining fastener strip;
it is likely bent or damaged and may cause
repeated jamming or damage to the tool if reused.
8.
If the jam cannot be cleared using the
method above, have the tool serviced
by a qualified technician.
