CAPACITANCE TRIM ADJUSTMENT OPERATING Each cartridge has a specified load capacitance into which it performs best. To determine the capacitive load on the cartridge, the capacitance of the receiver's phono input circuitry and the capacitance of the turntable's tonearm and output cord must be added. Often, this amount is less than that required by the cartridge. The capacitance trim feature allows you to add 100pF or 200pF to the normal amount, so that nearly all cartridges can be accommodated. Each

Turn
down
the
volume
of
your
receiver
to
the
mini-
mum
position.
2.
Turn
on
your
receiver
and
select
the
phono
function
according
to
the
owner's
manual
of
the
receiver.
3.
Place
the
disc
on
the
PLATTER
MAT.
If
this
is
a
45
RPM
disc,
you
wi
l l
need
to
use
the
center
hole
ADAP-
TOR
provided
with
the
turntable.
4.
Depress
the
33
or
45
SPEED
selector
button
in
accord-
ance
with
the
speed
of
the
disc
to
be
used.
5.
Depress
the
QUARTZ
LOCK
button
to
maintain
accurate
disc
speed.
6.
Depress
the
LIFT
button
to
the
AUTO
position.
(With
AUTO
position
selected,
the
TONEARM
automatically
lifts,
the
PLATTER
stops
and
pow-
er
is
turned
off
when
the
disc
ends.
)
7.
Fl
ip
the
CUE
lever
up
to
l
ift
the
TONEARM,
then
bring
the
TONEARM
over
the
disc
and
the
PLAT-
TER
wil
l
begin
to
rotate.
The
QUARTZ
LOCK
indi-
cator
wi
l
l
light
up
red.
Then
flip
the
CUE
lever
down
and
the
TONEARM
wil
l
be
lowered
and
the
record
will
begin
to
play.
8.
Slowly
raise
the
volume
of
receiver
up
to
your
desired
listening
level
.
9.
If
you
wish
to
stop
a
record
from
playing
be-
fore
its
end
is
reached,
press
the
CUT
button.
The
TONEARM
wil
l
be
automatical
ly
lifted
up,
the
PLATTER
wil
l
stop
and
the
power
wil
l
shut
off.
Then
bring
the
TONEARM
back
to
the
ARMREST.

At
the
end
of
the
disc,
the
TONEARM
wil
l
automati-
cal
ly
be
lifted
up,
the
PLATTER
will
stop
and
the
power
will
shut
off.
Then
bring
the
TONEARM
back
to
the
ARMREST.
11.
The
TONEARM
will
not
automatical
ly
lift
and
the
PLAT-
TER
wi
l
l
not
stop
at
the
end
of
the
disc
with
the
LIFT
button
set
to
the
MANUAL
position.
It
is
necessary
to
make
use
of
CUT
button
or
manual
ly
raise
the
TONEARM
at
the
disc
end
and
bring
it
to
the
ARMREST.
A
record
that
has
a
recorded
area
that
extends
beyond
the
standard
limit
cannot
be
fully
played
in
the
auto
-lift
mode,
since
the
arm
wil
l
lift
and
the
power
will
shut
off
before
the
record
ends
The
MANUAL
position
is
provided
in
order
to
play
such
a
record.
