START Is the printer shared on a network? No Printer setup OK? Yes Only one cable connected? Yes Printer settings OK? Yes Yes See Problems with a Network Printer. No Check printer setup. Do not connect a USB and parallel cable to the No printer at the same time. Turn off printer and disconnect the cable you are not using. Check that printer is selected as current or No default printer and check that Pause Printing is not selected in the Printer menu. Print a Self-Test. Check printer port selection. No Self-Test printed OK? You have a Yes damaged file or software problem. Print a Self-Test. Self-Test printed OK? No Your printer is Yes correctly set up. Try printing your document again. Power light blinks while Self- Test prints? No Check power cable connection. Print a Sample page. Yes Printer or computer failure. Return printer for repair. STOP Sample page prints OK? No Send printer for repair. Yes Power off your computer and printer. Disconnect and reconnect them, and power them on. Then print a Self-Test. No Self-Test printed OK? Yes Your printer is correctly set up. Try printing your document again.
