Hardware preinstalled by third parties or resellers is not included. Compatibility issues related to the use of a modem with Private Branch Exchange (PBX) equipment are not covered. Note If your computer has a modem installed, your reseller or customer support center may offer to connect to your computer remotely to diagnose a problem. Please refer to "Step 5: Using Remote Support Services" on page 6 for further details. Your modem has been approved for the country where the computer is sold. Importing your modem into another country is subject to specific telecommunications regulations. HP will not support the installation of the modem in any other country than the one originally intended for the modem. If your PC is preinstalled with Windows NT 4.0 you are entitled to the hardware support described in the previous table. You will not be entitled to support on Windows NT 4.0 usage, or any other operating system. If your PC is preinstalled with Windows NT 4.0 you are entitled to the
hardware support described in the previous table. You will not be
entitled to support on Windows NT 4.0 usage, or any other operating
system.
Step 2: Before You Call for Help
Go through the following checklist:
Check the table given in “Step 1: Check Your Support Definition” on
page 2 to see if you are entitled to free support.
Make sure you have your support details at hand when you call (see
below). You may also be asked for the following details:
A list of devices that you or your reseller have added to your
computer.
A record of any error or information messages that were
displayed.
Be in front of your computer when you call, with your computer
running and your manuals easily available.
