HP Color LaserJet CM1015/1017MFP Series Printer Whitepaper Duplexing detail What is it? The manual duplex process with reverse order printing may result in confusion for the user. Issue Description: The process of manual duplexing on the CM1015/1017MFP may cause confusion. The printer uses reverse order printing, meaning that the last page of a print job enters into the output tray first, face up. When printing simplex, the top of the printed page is at the end of the output tray. When duplex print is chosen, the printed page is rotated 180° (top of page to bottom of page) in relation to the simplex output The duplex process requires that the printed page be inverted and rotated 180° (top of page to bottom of page) when it is inserted into the paper tray. Image 1 below, shows the on-screen application feedback and highlights the key prompts for a successful duplex operation. The graphic display on the CM1017MFP, will not tell the customer the steps to be successful. The feedback is to "load paper" (see image 2 below) instead of the proper loading procedure for the job to be duplexed. In some instances the instructions displayed to the customer will be misleading if they print from a nonCM1015/1017MFP PCL6 or PS driver, or use the manual duplex option of the application and bypass the driver. Issue Resolution: 1) The Hp Printer driver pop-up windows show the correct positioning for the paper in. Image1 below shows the details of the duplex process. © 2004 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. The information contained herein is subject to change without notice.
