70 HP ProLiant DL560 Server User Guide Installation Requirements WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, personal injury, and damage to the equipment: • Do not attempt to service any parts of the equipment other than those specified in the following procedure. Any other activities may require that you shut down the server and remove the power cord. • Installation and maintenance of this product must be performed by individuals who are knowledgeable about the procedures, precautions and hazards associated with the product. You must observe the following requirements when installing redundant hot-plug fans: • To ensure optimum cooling, populate the primary fan locations, 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, before populating the redundant locations. • If a primary fan fails, replace the nonfunctioning fan before installing fans in redundant locations. Installing Redundant Hot Plug Fans 1. Extend the server from the rack, if applicable ("Extending the Server from the Rack" on page 30). 2. Remove the access panel ("Removing the Access Panel" on page 32).
