Any other activities may require that you shut down the server and remove the power cord. • Installation and maintenance of this product must be performed by individuals who are knowledgeable about the procedures, precautions and hazards associated with the product. You must observe the following requirements when installing redundant hot-plug fans: • To ensure optimum cooling, populate the primary fan locations, 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, before populating the redundant locations. • If a primary fan fails, replace the nonfunctioning fan before installing fans in redundant locations. Installing Redundant Hot Plug Fans 1. Extend the server from the rack, if applicable ("Extending the Server from the Rack" on page 30). 2. Remove the access panel ("Removing the Access Panel" on page 32).
