USB tape drive and cables For optimum performance the drive should be connected to a USB 2.0 port and it should be the only device on the USB bus. Although the tape drive will function on USB 1.1, performance will be severely degraded. See also "Verifying USB installation for optimum performance" on page 63. Appropriate USB cables are supplied with your tape drive. Internal drives The drive is not powered from the USB bus. It must be connected to the server's power supply.
