This affects Integrity blade servers such as the BL870c when an NC364m mezzanine card is present in the system. This message is harmless. No actual card failure has occurred. The message does not occur during a LAN boot. This message does not occur when the card is in ProLiant servers. To prevent the EFI error message from appearing, update the NC364m card's EFI driver version 3.2.03 to the 3.2.10 or later EFI driver. If you want to make the EFI error message disappear during boot-up, update the EFI driver; otherwise, nothing specific needs to be done. HP recommends updating the EFI driver. To get the update utility, instructions, and recommended EFI driver download, proceed as follows: 1. Go to: http://www.hp.com 2. Click the Software and Driver Downloads link. 3. Choose Download drivers and software (and firmware) and enter the product order number (447883-B21) or the product name (NC364m) in the search box, and click the search button >>, or press Enter. 4. Under "Select operating system" click the Cross operating system (BIOS, Firmware, Diagnostics, etc.) link. 5. Select the EFI update utility (lanutil64) and click the Download button. Virtual Keyboard Mouse only supported by Windows iLO 2 introduces the new Java-free Integrated Remote Console for environments with Microsoft Windows host and client operating systems. Integrated Remote Console provides access to Virtual KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) in all modes of server operation, for Microsoft Windows. Operating environments other than Windows host and client are not supported; such environments may use the Remote Serial Console (RSC) to accomplish similar functions. Preparing embedded LSI 1068 storage adapters for a Windows install If you are installing Windows manually, using the embedded LSI 1068 controller as the system boot controller, see http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01174467/c01174467.pdf for configuration information. Red Hat Linux 5.1 does not support serial port Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1 does not support use of the AUX UART serial port with CPU threads on due to a known issue in the serial port software driver. The workaround is to turn CPU threads off in order to use the serial port. This issue will be fixed with the RHEL 5.2 release in mid-2008. Virtual Connect Manager Enclosure View issue There is a known issue with the Virtual Connect Manager Enclosures View when a BL870c server blade is installed. The VC GUI shows an extra half-bay to the right of the enclosure bay. There is no operational issue, other than an incorrect display. This issue is caused by the VC GUI incorrectly determining the server blade position on the backplane interconnect. A fix is planned for VC firmware that will release in April 2008.
