1 HP Kayak XU PC Workstation Cache Memory 512 KB of level-two cache memory is integrated in the Pentium II processor package. Main Memory The PC Workstation has four DIMM slots on the system board for installing main memory; slots 1, 2, 3 and 4. Models are supplied with 64 MB or 128 MB of main memory. If additional memory is required, up to 1 GB may be installed. Memory upgrades are available in single 64 MB, 128 MB or 256 MB ECC SDRAM modules. A serial EEPROM on each DIMM contains data on the memory speed. This information is read at each power on, and access time settings are set accordingly. NOTE: 256 MB registered ECC SDRAM modules are not compatible with non-buffered ECC SDRAM modules (64 MB, or 128 MB). Therefore, memory can be upgraded to a maximum of 1 GB using multiples of 256 MB registered ECC SDRAM modules, or up to 512 MB using any combination of 64 MB or 128 MB modules. Video Memory There is 8 MB of video memory already supplied on the graphics controller board. Memory may be upgraded to a maximum of 16 MB by installing a memory module of 4 MB, or 8 MB onto the board. No switch or jumper settings need to be changed (all jumpers should be left in the positions in which they were set by the manufacturer). 1-6 HP Kayak XU PC Workstation Mini-Tower PC Workstations
