USER MAINTENANCE When the IYE-;ER VIA I tITEHANCE message is displayed, the printer has printed 200,000 pages and printer maintenance is required. When the printer maintenance has been completed, clear the message and continue printing (see "Clearing the Service Message" in Chapter 7). The parts to be replaced are: 1. Fusing Assembly. 2. Transfer Roller and retaining clip. 3. Pickup and Separation Rollers. 4. Duplex D-Roller (if Duplex Unit is installed). Note 1. Unless specifically noted, replacement is the reverse of removal. 2. The terms, "right" and "left", used in these procedures assume that you are facing the front of the printer. Caution Warning Use the gloves provided when replacing the Transfer Roller. Do not touch the roller without using clean gloves. Natural skin oils will contaminate the Transfer Roller. 1. Severe personal injury may result from servicing the printer while it is plugged in. Turn OFF and unplug the printer before beginning service. 2. Allow the printer to cool for thirty minutes before beginning service to prevent burn injuries from the hot Fusing Assembly. 44 Printer Maintenance: USER MAINTENANCE
