Uninstall the edge holders 1. Unload the substrate (see Unload a roll from the printer on page 77). 2. Place the edge holder in the left parking position. 3. Press the front of the edge holder forward until it pops off the rail. 4. Remove the edge holder. 5. Repeat the process with the other edge holder. Unload a roll from the printer TIP: HP recommends not leaving the substrate loaded when the printer will not be in use for a long period of time, such as overnight or at weekends. Substrate left loaded may become deformed, causing problems such as printhead crashes. 1. If you used the take-up reel during printing, unload the printed roll from the take-up reel. See Unload the take-up reel on page 82. 2. 800 series only: Rotate the pivot system so that the input roll is accessible. 3. On the printer's front panel, tap , then Unload. Alternatively, you can tap , then Substrate > Unload substrate. 4. If the printer has been tracking the length of the substrate, the front panel displays the remaining length so that you can note it for future reference. See Substrate length tracking on page 86.
