MSA 1040 rear features The rear of the MSA 1040 is the same for all MSA 1040 models, except for the SFPs that are pre-installed in the controller. SAS expansion port Prepare for the installation Locate required items The following items are shipped with the MSA 1040: • HP MSA 1040 chassis. LFF and SFF chassis are supported. • Drives • Rack mounting kit • Mini-USB CLI cable • PDU power cords • HP MSA 1040 SW Support and Documentation DVD Other items you may need: • Screwdrivers (Phillips) • Antistatic protection device • Expansion drive enclosures and cables • Servers that need access to the MSA 1040 • Switch • Cables for connecting to the host • RJ-45 Ethernet cable for connecting to a remote management host • Access from a workstation on the server to the MSA 1040 (to access the SMU and validate host connections) • Access to the Internet (to access HP websites for the latest QuickSpecs, user documents, and firmware) Obtain the latest user documents Locate MSA 1040 user guides to help with the planning, installation, and configuration processes. User documents are available on the DVD shipped with the MSA 1040, with the most recent versions on the MSA 1040 website at http://www.hp.com/ support/msa1040/Manuals.
