RDP Connection Configuration Enable data compression Default: Checked Selecting this option will cause data to be compressed before it is transmitted. Enable encryption Default: Checked This determines whether communication from the client to the server is encrypted or not. If your thin client is to connect to a French version of Windows NT 4 Server running Terminal Server Edition, you should disable encryption by unchecking this option. Force bitmap updates Default: Checked Bitmaps are usually cached to improve performance. Selecting this option will force bitmap data to be retrieved from the server at all times. Use private colormap Default: Checked When using more than 256 colours, selecting this option will improve performance by utilizing a private colour map. System beep Default: Checked This allows you to enable or disable sound-based warnings that are issued when Windows needs to alert you. Attach to console Default: Unchecked Checking this box will cause an RDP connection to be opened as if you were sitting in front of the server itself.
