Margins, Tabs & Start Column This set of functions is asserted by pressing the F9 key ( equivalent to the User System key) then F2. These functions enable you to redefine the start column, set tabs, and specify the left and right margins. Start Column - F1 This function is used to temporarily redefine the start column for transmitted data when no logical start-of-text pointer is present and the Return or Enter keys are pressed in Modify Line or Modify All mode. Note: The default start column is specified in the HP70092 Settings dialog (see "Setup Options" on page 125). Usually a start-of-text pointer is automatically generated to designate the leftmost character in the current line if it is the last line of data in display memory. The pointer will remain in display memory until the line is deleted. If the line has no start-of-text pointer, data transmission will begin at the start column specified by this option. The column range that can be specified is from 1 to 80, inclusive. To change the current start column, move the cursor to the new starting point and click this button or press the F1 key. The start column will revert to that specified within setup when the emulation is reset or re-entered. Set Tab - F2 This function enables tab stops to be defined. To define a tab stop, move the cursor to the column to contain the tab then click this button or press F2. 118 Function Keys & Buttons
