When you set up your computer for the first time, you'll install and charge the battery, connect the AC adapter, turn on the computer, and run the Windows setup program. Before removing the battery, do one of the following: • Shut down the computer or put it into Hibernate mode, or • Plug in the AC adapter. 2. Connect the telephone cord into a telephone jack. If the plug on the phone cord doesn't fit the jack, you may need to use an adapter. 3. Plug the other end of the phone cord into the built-in modem.
