Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 31). 5. Disconnect the battery. Remove the hard drive: 1. Disconnect the hard drive connector cable (1) from the system board. 2. Remove the Phillips PM2.0×7.0 screw (2) that secures the hard drive and battery to the computer. 3. Remove the three Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screws (3) that secure the hard drive to the computer. Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.

3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the bottom cover (see

5.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove the hard drive:
1.
Disconnect the hard drive connector cable
(1)
from the system board.
2.
Remove the Phillips PM2.0×7.0 screw
(2)
that secures the hard drive and battery to the computer.
3.
Remove the three Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screws
(3)
that secure the hard drive to the computer.
