1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 28). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 33). Remove the speakers: 1. Disconnect the speaker cable (1) from the audio/USB board. 2. Release the speakers cables from the retention clips (2) built into the bottom cover. 3. Remove the two Phillips PM2.4×5.7 screws (3) that secure the right speaker to the bottom cover. 4. Remove the speakers (4). Reverse this procedure to install the speakers. Display assembly NOTE: The display assembly is spared at the subcomponent level only. For display assembly spare part information, see the individual removal subsections. Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer.
