Hard drive NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive rubber bracket, hard drive connector cable, or screws. These components are included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number 740706-001. Description 1 TB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm 750 GB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm 500 GB, 5400 rpm, 7.0 mm mSATA solid-state drive, 24 GB (for use with select computer models with Intel processors, HM86 Express chipsets, and switchable discrete graphics) Spare part number 676521-005 634250-005 683802-005 732085-001 Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 42), and then remove the following components: a. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 48) b. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 54) c. Service door (see Service door on page 43) d. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 46) e. Memory module (see Memory module on page 44) f. Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
