Note: The option you set is active from shot-toshot; it resets to its default setting when you cycle the power on the camera. In both cases, you will see the warning "Unable to Focus" on the image LCD, and the in-focus indicator in the viewfinder will blink. Focus Lock Submenu Use the Focus Lock submenu to control how your camera performs focus metering and locking when the shutter release button is pressed halfway down. This is a "release priority" mode; that is, the shutter will release immediately, even when the camera has not achieved focus.
