People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau SAR) 1. Register with Compaq within three months of purchase to receive on-site warranty service. Your Presario product must be located within a specified distance (80-kilometres in Australia and 50-kilometres in other countries that offer on-site service, excluding off-shore islands) by land transport of a Compaq Authorized Service Provider. 2. Presario products purchased in the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau SAR) should be registered with Compaq to receive carry-in warranty service. 3. For Presario Notebook, the International Travelers Warranty program may be applicable subject to certain restrictions. Compaq's obligations with respect to Software Products, including Software Products pre-installed with the Presario product distributed by Compaq under the Compaq brand name are set forth in the applicable end user license agreement. Non-Compaq Hardware and Software Products are provided on an "AS IS" basis and are therefore not covered by this Limited Warranty. However, non-Compaq manufacturers, suppliers, or publishers may provide their own warranties. TERMS OF THE WARRANTY 1. Compaq warrants that the Presario product you have purchased from a Compaq Authorized Reseller is free from defects in materials or workmanship under normal use during the warranty period. The warranty period commences on the date of purchase. Your sales receipt, showing the date of purchase of the Presario product, is your proof of the date of purchase. This warranty extends only to you, the original purchaser. It is not transferable to anyone who subsequently purchases the Presario product from you. It excludes expendable parts. 6
