2. The Presario Desktop or Tower product is covered by a country-specific warranty and warranty service is only available in the country where you purchased the Presario product. If the Presario product is moved out of the country of purchase, it will not be covered by this warranty. Subject to certain conditions, a special International Traveler's Warranty program applicable to Presario Notebook is available to assist you when you travel to a country different from the country of purchase. Please contact the local Compaq office for details of this program 3. During the warranty period, a Compaq Authorized Service Provider or Compaq will, at no additional charge, replace defective parts with new parts or serviceable used parts that are equivalent or superior to new parts in performance. All exchanged parts and products replaced under this warranty will become the property of Compaq. If, after numerous repeated efforts, the Compaq Authorized Service Provider and/or Compaq are unable to restore the Presario product to good working order, Compaq may, at its option replace the Presario product with another Presario product of equivalent functionality or configuration. 4. This Limited Warranty does not extend to any Presario product purchased from an unauthorized reseller. This Limited Warranty does not extend to any Presario product that has been damaged or rendered defective (a) as a result of accident, misuse, or abuse; (b) by the use of parts not manufactured or sold by Compaq; (c) by operation outside the usage or storage parameters stated in the Presario product's User's Guide; (d) by wear and tear; (e) by modification of the Presario product; or (f) as a result of repair or service by anyone other than (1) Compaq or a Compaq Authorized Service Provider; (2) your own installation of a End User Replaceable Part (EURP) shipped by Compaq to you for self-installation to overcome a hardware problem. Compaq or any Compaq Authorized Service Provider shall not be responsible for damage to or loss of programs, data, or removable storage media. 7
