You may need this number to update or troubleshoot the operating system. ■ The system label provides regulatory information about the notebook. ■ The product identification label contains the serial number of the notebook and a code describing the original configuration of the notebook. You will need the notebook serial number if you call customer support. ■ The modem approvals label, which is affixed to an optional internal modem, provides regulatory information. ■ Wireless certification labels, which are specific to various types of optional wireless devices, are affixed to the notebook and provide regulatory information.
