Connect each PDU to a dedicated (unshared) branch circuit that is rated for the continuous measured load of all the equipment connected to it. The total power load for a PDU should not exceed 80 percent of the branch circuit rating. If a PDU is not used, connect each piece of equipment within the rack to a dedicated branch circuit. For additional information, see the HP website http://www.hp.com/og/powercapping. Power options The following table describes the available power options and provide details about those options. See the HP Website (http://www.hp.com/go/rackandpower). All branch circuits used within a facility must be connected together to form a common ground. All power sources such as transformers, UPS devices, and other sources, must be connected together to form a common ground. NOTE: When wiring a 3-phase enclosure, phase rotation is unimportant. However, the rotation must be consistent for both plugs. Power redundancy High-availability information technology equipment such as servers and storage devices can be configured with backup or redundant power sources and power supplies in either of the following configurations: Power requirements and considerations 33
