Initial Power-On/Recovery CD Process, Windows 2000 (This document supercedes the readme file "README.HTM" located on your start-up CD.) Initial Power On Process The following steps describe the initial power on process for a Microsoft Windows 2000 Preloaded system. 1. On Welcome screen, click Next 2. Accept the License Agreement and click Next 3. On Regional settings, click on Next 4. On Personalize your software screen, type your name and organization and click Next 5. On Product Key screen, type the twenty five character product ID shown on the COA label attached to the computer and click Next 6. On Licensing Mode, select the proper licensing for your computer and click Next. 7. On Computer Name and Administrator Password screen, type the name and password that you wish to use and click Next. 8. On Date and time setting screen, set the correct date and time zone and click Next. 9. On Windows 2000 has been installed successfully, click on Restart Now and restart the computer. (Or, wait until the computer restarts.) WINDOWS 2000 INSTALLATION PROCESS USING RECOVERY CD (RCD) Installation Process Using Recovery CD The following procedure is used to install Windows 2000 using the Recovery CD. 1. Insert the Recovery CD (RCD) and reboot the system with it. 2. Select the partition that you need for a boot drive (4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, All) 3.
