The serial port connector requires a null-modem F/F DB9 cable. The pins on the switch RS-232 connector (Figure 6) are identified in Table 3. For information about connecting the workstation through the serial port, see "Connect the management station or workstation to the switch" on page 37. Four internal fans provide cooling. The switch monitors internal air temperature, and therefore does not monitor or report fan operational status. Air flow is front-to-back. To energize the switch, plug the power cord into the switch AC receptacle (located on the back of the switch) and into a 100-240 VAC power source.
