2 Overview of the HP MSA VDS hardware provider The HP MSA VDS hardware provider is software that installs on a Windows 2003 server connected to an HP MSA disk array. The hardware provider works with the Microsoft Virtual Disk Service (VDS) to expand the capability of the Windows operating system and Windows applications to manage the HP disk array LUNs and ports. Figure 1 and the rest of this chapter explain how the hardware provider and other components interact to enable the Windows server to manage disk array functions. 2 Overview of the HP MSA VDS

Microsoft Windows 2003 operating system
