Replication software HP StorageWorks Business Copy XP and Snapshot XP HP Business Copy allows you to make up to nine ongoing copies of data for nonproduction activities such as backup, batching, and system testing. HP Business Copy and the disk array now support enhanced HP Snapshot features. HP Snapshot is optional software that creates multiple, point-in-time, online, local copies without impacting primary production operation. The enhanced HP Snapshot features include support for snapshots on external storage, up to 128 snapshot pools per system, and restoring data from any previous generation. HP Snapshot may require additional shared memory. HP StorageWorks Continuous Access Synchronous HP Continuous Access Synchronous software allows you to make ongoing synchronous copies of array data to a remote array located many miles away from the source array. HP StorageWorks Continuous Access Asynchronous HP Continuous Access Asynchronous is similar to HP Continuous Access Synchronous, but operates in asynchronous mode. Transactions to be written to the secondary array are kept in cache memory on the local array in a "side-file." This potentially increases performance in remote copying. Copy operations are sequence-stamped to ensure they are executed and sorted correctly at the remote disk array. HP StorageWorks Continuous Access Journal HP StorageWorks Continuous Access Journal is an asynchronous mirroring program similar to HP Continuous Access Asynchronous except that transactions to be written to the secondary array are kept in a disk-based journal file. This provides better performance for secondary systems that are not highly available or that may be subject to bandwidth contention from other applications. HP Continuous Access Journal supports cascading configurations, multiple target sites, external storage connections, up to 256 journal groups, online journal volume expansion, and several Open system and mainframe emulation modes. HP StorageWorks RAID Manager XP HP StorageWorks RAID Manager XP (RM) enables you to perform operations with HP StorageWorks Continuous Access and HP StorageWorks Business Copy XP (BC) by issuing commands from a host to the disk array. The RM software interfaces with the host system software and host high availability (HA) software, as well as with the BC and Continuous Access software on the disk array. Replication software
HP StorageWorks Business Copy XP and Snapshot XP
HP Business Copy allows you to make up to nine ongoing copies of data for
nonproduction activities such as backup, batching, and system testing. HP Business Copy
and the disk array now support enhanced HP Snapshot features. HP Snapshot is optional
software that creates multiple, point-in-time, online, local copies without impacting
primary production operation. The enhanced HP Snapshot features include support for
snapshots on external storage, up to 128 snapshot pools per system, and restoring data
from any previous generation. HP Snapshot may require additional shared memory.
HP StorageWorks Continuous Access Synchronous
HP Continuous Access Synchronous software allows you to make ongoing synchronous
copies of array data to a remote array located many miles away from the source array.
HP StorageWorks Continuous Access Asynchronous
HP Continuous Access Asynchronous is similar to HP Continuous Access Synchronous,
but operates in asynchronous mode. Transactions to be written to the secondary array
are kept in cache memory on the local array in a “side-
le.” This potentially increases
performance in remote copying. Copy operations are sequence-stamped to ensure they
are executed and sorted correctly at the remote disk array.
HP StorageWorks Continuous Access Journal
HP StorageWorks Continuous Access Journal is an asynchronous mirroring program
similar to HP Continuous Access Asynchronous except that transactions to be written
to the secondary array are kept in a disk-based journal
le. This provides better
performance for secondary systems that are not highly available or that may be subject
to bandwidth contention from other applications. HP Continuous Access Journal supports
cascading con
gurations, multiple target sites, external storage connections, up to
256 journal groups, online journal volume expansion, and several Open system and
mainframe emulation modes.
HP StorageWorks RAID Manager XP
HP StorageWorks RAID Manager XP (RM) enables you to perform operations with HP
StorageWorks Continuous Access and HP StorageWorks Business Copy XP (BC) by
issuing commands from a host to the disk array. The RM software interfaces with the
host system software and host high availability (HA) software, as well as with the BC
and Continuous Access software on the disk array.
