6 Set Thermostat ❑ Move the temperature setting lever to the required temperature comfort level. CT40A HEATING THERMOSTAT 7 Troubleshoot Thermostat Your Honeywell thermostat requires minimal attention. Most problems can be corrected as described in Table 2. Symptom No heat. Furnace turns on and off. Major swings in temperature of greater than 1°C (2°F) when outside temperature is stable. Thermostat setting and thermometer reading disagree. Table 2. Troubleshooting. For standing pilot applications, relight pilot flame per furnace manufacturer's instructions. With power to furnace set to Off: • Tighten all mounting and terminal screws. • Repair frayed or broken wires. Contact a qualified service technician for assistance. Remove the thermostat cover and move the heat anticipator lever counterclockwise one scale mark. Replace the cover and wait several hours for the system to stabilize. Remove the thermostat cover and move the heat anticipator lever clockwise one scale mark. Replace the cover and wait several hours for the system to stabilize. Contact qualified service technician to change the location. The thermostat should be about 1.5 m (5 ft) above the floor and on an inside wall. 3 69-0847B-1
