Power Nozzle belt replacement 3.14 3.15 The belt in your power nozzle drives the agitator. It has been designed specifically for use in this cleaner and is important for effective operation. What to Buy There are other belts manufactured that are similar in shape and size, but are not designed for the HOOVER® power nozzle. Such belts do not operate the agitator correctly and may create stress which could damage your power nozzle. 3.16 D 3.17 Use only a genuine HOOVER® Belt part no. 562673001 when a belt replacement is necessary. F When to Replace The belt should be checked from time to time to be sure it is in good condition. To check, remove the hood (see following section). Replace the belt if it is stretched, cut, or broken. E How to Replace ! CAUTION ! 3.18 To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts, unplug vacuum before servicing. Disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet and disconnect power nozzle from extension wand. 3.14 To remove hood, turn nozzle over and unscrew the 7 recessed Phillips head screws. 3.15 Return nozzle to original position. Lower Quick Disconnect by depressing down the handle release pedal and lift off the hood. 3.16 If belt is not broken but is stretched or cut, pull it off the motor pulley (D). Lift up end of agitator Brushroll. Remove old belt from agitator pulley (E) and replace with new belt. Lettering on belt must be visible. Stretch belt back and attach to motor pulley. 3.17 Hold opposite end of agitator brushroll in place. Push belt end forward, rotating end plate (F) until it slides into place. Turn agitator, making sure it rotates freely. 3.18 Position hood on top of nozzle base. Turn nozzle over. Replace the 7 Philips head screws. Agitator brushroll replacement When to Replace When agitator brushroll brushes are worn, the brushroll should be replaced. CAUTION To reduce the risk of injury from moving ! ! parts, unplug vacuum before servicing. 3.19 3.19 To check condition of brushes, move edge of a card across bottom plate while turning brushroll. To maintain cleaning effectiveness, replace brushroll if brushes do not touch card. 1. Remove hood, belt and brushroll as shown in Figs. 3.14 to 3.16. 2. Discard old brushroll. 3. Replace new brushroll and belt as shown in Fig. 3.18. Actual model may vary from images shown. 11 What to Buy: Brushroll When purchasing a new agitator brushroll, ask for HOOVER® part no. 59135316.

unplug vacuum before servicing.
How to Replace
Disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet and
disconnect power nozzle from extension wand.
3.14 To remove hood, turn nozzle over and unscrew
the 7 recessed Phillips head screws.
3.15 Return nozzle to original position. Lower Quick
Disconnect by depressing down the handle release
pedal and lift off the hood.
3.16 If belt is not broken but is stretched or cut, pull
it off the motor pulley (D).
Lift up end of agitator Brushroll. Remove old belt
from agitator pulley (E) and replace with new belt.
Lettering on belt must be visible.
Stretch belt back and attach to motor pulley.

AGITATOR BRUSHROLL REPLACEMENT
When to Replace
When agitator brushroll brushes are worn, the brushroll should be replaced.

3.19 To check condition of brushes, move edge of a card across bottom plate
while turning brushroll. To maintain cleaning effectiveness, replace brushroll if
brushes do not touch card.
1. Remove hood, belt and brushroll as shown in Figs. 3.14 to 3.16.
2. Discard old brushroll.
3. Replace new brushroll and belt as shown in Fig. 3.18.
