maintenance Briggs & Stratton Engine - 19 HP 1. Pull up the handle on the air filter cover. Unhook and turn towards the engine to remove. 2. Clean the area around the filter element to prevent debris from getting into the engine when the element is removed. WARNING! The engine and the exhaust system become very hot during operation. Risk for burns if touched. Allow engine and exhaust system to cool at least two (2) minutes. Pull up on handle 3. Lift out the filter element. Replace a dirty, bent or damaged element with a new one. Handle the new element carefully and do not use if the sealing surfaces are bent or damaged. If the element can be reused, tap it against a solid surface to remove dust.
