- System-BMC Serial Port Sharing Select this choice to specify whether the serial port that the BMC uses is shared with the rest of the system or is dedicated to the BMC. This choice, together with the BMC Serial Port Access Mode setting, affects serial-related behavior and remote-management capabilities on this server. For more information, see the help for this choice. - BMC Serial Port Access Mode Select this choice to specify the access mode for the serial port. This choice, together with the System-BMC Serial Port Sharing setting, affects serial-related behavior and remote-management capabilities on this server. For more information, see the help for this choice. - Reboot System on NMI Select this choice to enable or disable the ability of the server to restart after an NMI interrupt is issued. If the value is Enabled, this setting supersedes the automatic server restart (ASR) setting. - User Account Settings Select this choice to view the settings for each BMC user ID, change the password for a BMC user ID, and set the maximum BMC privilege level. - BMC Network Configuration Select this choice to view the mini-BMC MAC address, IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, host name, and DHCP control setting. - BMC System Event Log Select this choice to view the BMC system-event log, which contains all system-error messages that have been generated. Use the arrow keys to move among pages in the log. Run the diagnostic programs to get more information about error codes that occur. See the Problem Determination and Service Guide on the IBM System x Documentation CD for instructions. To clear the BMC system-event log, select Clear BMC SELs and confirm the selection. The BMC system-event log is limited in size. When the log is full, new entries will not overwrite existing entries; therefore, you must periodically clear the BMC system-event log. When you are troubleshooting an error, be sure to clear the BMC system-event log so that you can find current errors more easily. - High Precision Event Timer Select this choice to enable or disable the high precision event timer (HPET) function. v Event/Error Logs Select this choice to view or clear error logs. - System Event/Error Log Select this choice to view the complete log of POST error messages.
