Figure 4-13 Shows that hot-plug is enabled Tip: You can debug the driver by powering down the machine, rebooting, and entering: LOAD C:\IBMXSBD.NLM -DBGALL > C:\IBMXSBD.TXT Adding support for the RXE-100 To add support for RXE-100, a new NBI.NLM file must be obtained by going to http://support.novell.com/filefinder/ and searching for NBIUP1.EXE. This file contains a new NetWare Bus Interface driver, NBI.NLM. The new driver adds support for the x440 when the RXE-100 is installed. Before you begin: Attach the RXE-100 (do this after the NetWare installation). The NetWare Support Pack must be installed before installing the new NBI.NLM. Otherwise, installing the support pack will overwrite the new NBI.NLM Perform the following operation: 1. Bring the server down to a DOS prompt. 2. Go to C:\NWSERVER directory and rename the NBI.NLM to NBI.OLD if it exists. 126 IBM ^ xSeries 440 Planning and Installation Guide

Adding support for the RXE-100
To add support for RXE-100, a new NBI.NLM file must be obtained by going to
and searching for NBIUP1.EXE. This
file contains a new NetWare Bus Interface driver, NBI.NLM. The new driver adds
support for the x440 when the RXE-100 is installed.
Perform the following operation:
1.
Bring the server down to a DOS prompt.
2.
Go to C:\NWSERVER directory and rename the NBI.NLM to NBI.OLD if it
exists.
Tip:
You can debug the driver by powering down the machine, rebooting, and
entering:
LOAD C:\IBMXSBD.NLM -DBGALL > C:\IBMXSBD.TXT
Before you begin:
±
Attach the RXE-100 (do this after the NetWare installation).
±
The NetWare Support Pack
must
be installed before installing the new
NBI.NLM. Otherwise, installing the support pack will overwrite the new
NBI.NLM
