6 OTHER FUNCTIONS ■■ Message DDReceiving a message A safety-related message of up to 161 characters can be received from an AIS equipped vessel in the area. 1. When a message is received, a beep sounds, and a popup screen is displayed. ••"Message is received. Read it now?" is displayed. 2. Select [OK], and then push [ENT] to display the message. ••The "DETAILS" screen is displayed. NOTE: The received messages are automatically saved in your RX log. See below for details. DDMessage logs The transponder saves up to 20 received messages in your RX log. The oldest message is automatically deleted when a new message is received. On the Function display, is displayed when there is an unread message. 1. Open the "RX log" screen. [MENU] > AIS Information > AIS messages > RX log ••"No message" is displayed when there is no received message. •• is displayed when there is an unread message. •• is displayed when there is no unread message. 2. Message

Receiving a message
A safety-related message of up to 161 characters can be received from an AIS equipped
vessel in the area.
1.
When a message is received, a beep sounds, and a
popup screen is displayed.
• “Message is received. Read it now?” is displayed.
2.
Select [OK], and then push [ENT] to display the
message.
• The “DETAILS” screen is displayed.
NOTE:
The received messages are automatically saved
in your RX log. See below for details.

Message logs
The transponder saves up to 20 received messages in your RX log.
The oldest message is automatically deleted when a new message is received.
On the Function display,
