NS-PSB4521 2.1 Bluetooth Desktop Speaker System Using your speaker system Turning your speaker system on or off To turn your speaker system on or off: • To turn on your speaker system, press the Power/pairing button for about half a second. Your speaker system turns on and automatically enters pairing mode. The blue LED blinks rapidly. Note Your speaker system stays in pairing mode for 10 minutes, then exits pairing mode (the blue LED blinks slowly). To start pairing mode again, press the Power/pairing button for three seconds. • To turn off your speaker system, press the Power/pairing button for about half a second. Your speaker system and the LED turn off. Pairing with a Bluetooth device Before you can use your speaker system with a Bluetooth device, you need to pair your device to your speaker. You can pair Bluetooth devices such as an iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Android phone, Android tablet, or any audio device that supports the Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR A2DP protocol. The steps for pairing a device vary from device to device, so refer to the instructions that can with your device for specific pairing instructions. Note Your speaker system can store pairing information for as many as eight Bluetooth devices. To pair with a Bluetooth device: 1 Make sure that your Bluetooth device supports the Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR A2DP protocol and that your device is not paired with another device. To determine what Bluetooth protocol your device supports, see the documentation that came with your device. 2 Make sure that your speaker system is turned on. 3 If the blue LED is not blinking rapidly, press and hold the Power/pairing button for three seconds. 4 Make sure that your Bluetooth device is within 32 feet (10 meters) of your speaker system. 5 Turn on your Bluetooth device, turn on the Bluetooth feature, then set your device to pairing mode. For instructions, see the documentation that came with your Bluetooth device. 6 On your Bluetooth device, select Insignia NS-PSB4521. Your speaker system pairs with the Bluetooth device and the blue LED lights solid. Note If you are pairing with a computer, make sure that your Bluetooth speaker is selected as the computer's default playback device. See the computer's documentation for instructions. Reconnecting to a paired device The Bluetooth connection is lost if you: • Turn off your speaker system • Move the Bluetooth device out of range of your speaker system • Turn off your Bluetooth device • Turn off the Bluetooth feature on your Bluetooth device When your speaker system is not paired to a device, the blue LED blinks slowly. To reconnect a paired a device: 1 If your speaker system is turned off, turn it on. The blue LED on your speaker system blinks rapidly and your speaker system searches for the last connected Bluetooth device. When your speaker system pairs with the device, the blue LED lights solid. 2 Make sure that your Bluetooth device is turned on, the Bluetooth feature on the device is turned on, and the device is within range of your speaker system with no obstructions between your speaker system and the device. Note The auto connect feature may not work with some Bluetooth devices. If a device does not automatically reconnect, you need to select your speaker system on your Bluetooth device. Follow the instructions in "Pairing with a Bluetooth device" on page 6. Connecting to a different device To connect to a different device: 1 If a Bluetooth device is connected to your speaker system: • Move the device out of range of your speaker system. OR • Turn off the Bluetooth function on the Bluetooth device. OR • Unpair your speaker system in the Bluetooth device list. 2 Follow the instructions in "Pairing with a Bluetooth device" on page 6. Selecting a sound source Your speaker system lets you listen to either Bluetooth (wireless) or AUX IN (wired) sound sources. The speaker is in Bluetooth mode unless the audio cable is connected. If you connect a device to the AUX jack, your speaker system switches to AUX IN mode. Your speaker system stays in AUX IN mode as long as the device is playing audio. Your speaker system waits 10 seconds to receive an audio signal from the AUX jack. If your speaker system does not receive a signal, it automatically switches back to Bluetooth mode. 6 www.insigniaproducts.com
