Intel Desktop Board DQ45EK Product Guide NOTE System resources and hardware (such as PCI Express) require physical memory address locations that can reduce available addressable system memory. This could result in a reduction of as much as 1 GB or more of physical addressable memory being available to the operating system and applications, depending on the system configuration and operating system. Go to the following locations for more information about: • SDRAM specifications, http://intel.com/technology/memory/ • Installing memory, page 37 in Chapter 2 • Tested memory, http://cmtlabs.com/mbsearch.asp or http://intel.com/products/motherboard/index.htm?iid=HMPAGE+Header_2_Product _MB Intel® Q45 Express Chipset The Intel Q45 Express Chipset consists of the following devices: • Intel 82Q45 Express Chipset Graphics and Memory Controller Hub (GMCH) with Direct Media Interface (DMI) • Intel 82801JDO I/O Controller Hub (ICH10DO) with DMI The GMCH component provides interfaces to the processor, memory, PCI Express, and the DMI interconnect. The component also provides integrated graphics capabilities supporting 3D, 2D, and display capabilities. ICH10DO is a centralized controller for the board's I/O paths.
