Desktop Board Features WiFi (802.11 Wireless) Technology The Bluetooth/WiFi Module allows you to connect with a variety of WiFi enabled networks, access points and allows peer to peer connections. Driver support is provided by Microsoft operating systems such as Microsoft Vista and Microsoft Windows 7 with additional support provided by the supplied WiFi driver included on the Intel Express DVD and online. The WiFi module features the following: • Ralink WiFi 802.11 (RT8070) • Range of up to 300 meters • Support for the following wireless standards: - IEEE 802.11B with data rates up to 11 Mb/s - IEEE 802.11G with data rates up to 54 Mb/s - IEEE 802.11N with data rates up to 150 Mb/s • Integrated antenna • Operating system support for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, both 32 bit and 64 bit To obtain the latest drivers, go to http://downloadcenter.intel.com. Remote Thermal Probe A Remote Thermal Probe is included with Intel Desktop Board DX79SI (see Figure 9). The probe can be used to monitor temperatures at any location on the board. Temperature readings can be displayed in Intel® Desktop Utilities or the BIOS. For probe connection instructions see "Connecting the Remote Thermal Probe" on page 65. Figure 9. Remote Thermal Probe 31
