Removing 8x3.5'' Hot-swap Hard Drive Cage Assembly 1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. 2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable. 3. Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see "Removing the Chassis Cover". 4. Remove the front bezel if it is installed. For instructions, see "Removing the Front Bezel (Pedestal Only)". 5. Disconnect the power and data cables to the backplane. 6. Use screwdriver to release the hot-swap hard drive cage (see letter A) from the chassis and remove the hot-swap hard drive cage (see letter B). Figure 46. Cage Assembly
NOTE
This procedure applies only to the Intel

Server Chassis P4000M family with 8x3.5'' hot-swap hard disk
drive cage configuration.
Removing 8x3.5'' Hot-swap Hard Drive Cage Assembly
1.
Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book.
2.
Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable.
3.
Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see “Removing the Chassis Cover”.
4.
Remove the front bezel if it
is installed. For instructions, see “Removing the Front Bezel
(Pedestal
Only)
”.
5.
Disconnect the power and data cables to the backplane.
6.
Use screwdriver to release the hot-swap hard drive cage (see letter
A
) from the chassis and remove
the hot-swap hard drive cage (see letter
B
).
