For each of the drives, compares the temperature against an accepted range for normal operation. Checks the fan status. Checks the power supply status. S.M.A.R.T. A program inside the disk constantly tracks a range of the vital parameters, including driver, disk heads, surface state, and electronics. This information may be used to predict hard drive failures. Using Passive Reports
Passive reports display statistics about the performance of the SSM, its drives and
configuration. Statistics in the passive reports are point-in-time data, gathered when you
click the Refresh button on the Hardware Information tab.
Open the Edit Configuration window to access the Hardware configuration category.

Select a storage module in the navigation window.

Click Storage Module Tasks in the tab window.
3.
Select Edit Configuration.
4.
Select the Hardware configuration category.
5.
Select the Hardware Information tab.
6.
Click Refresh to display statistics on the Hardware Information tab.
Hard drive status
Checks the status of all installed
