IP30 & SR61B Battery Instructions

Using the AB3 and AB19 Batteries

These lithium-ion batteries are designed for use in these products:

Model IP30, IP30NI

y

Model SR61, SR61B, SR61BNI

Charging the Battery

Before using your IP30 or SR61B, you need to fully charge the battery.

Batteries can be charged after a partial discharge without affecting

the original battery capacity. A fully discharged battery charges in

approximately 3 to 4 hours.

You can charge the AB3 or AB19 battery with these accessories:

Only the AB19 has been qualified for use with IP30NI and

SR61BNI.

Discarded batteries may create a safety hazard. Before

disposal, cover the battery connector with electrical

insulating tape.

Important Recommendations

Charge the battery immediately before use or within a

couple of days of use.

y

Use the Intermec battery AB3 or AB19 only with an IP30 or R61B.

Use of

this battery in other devices could result in damage to the

device or battery.

y

The temperature range for charging batteries is 0°C to 35°C

(32°F to 95°F) for the 1-bay charger and 0°C to 45°C (32°F to

113°F) for the 2-bay, 4-bay, and 8-bay chargers. For maximum

battery life, charge batteries at 23°C (73°F).

y

Do not store the battery at temperatures above 60°C

(140°F), such as inside a car on a hot day or in direct

sunlight, as this may damage the battery.

y

Battery usage by children should be supervised.

y

Do not disassemble or open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred

or dispose of in fire.

y

Do not solder directly to the battery contacts.

y

Do not immerse the battery in water or get the battery

wet.

y

Do not short circuit the battery, and keep it away from

metallic items.

y

Do not drop the battery or apply mechanical shocks or

pressure to it.

y

Avoid dropping the battery or the IP30 or SR61B. If you suspect

that the battery or IP30 or SR61B is damaged, send it to an

Intermec service center for inspection.

y

Replace battery only with another AB3 or AB19 battery. This

battery has been tested in accordance with applicable safety

standards. Contact your Intermec sales representative or

distributor is this battery is no longer available.
